232 more Covid cases, zero death recorded in 24 hrs

The Bangladesh government reported 232 more Coronavirus cases and zero death in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of infections increased to 19,54,637 and the fatalities remain at 29,131.

Quoting the sources in the Directorate General of Health Services, state-owned news agency BSS said in a report on Wednesday.

The new cases were found after testing 5,986 samples in the past day.

During the period, 88 more patients recovered from the illness, taking the total recoveries to 19,05,504.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020.

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 541,888,823 people and killed 6,334,549 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 517,137,965 across the world.
