Bashundhara Group distributes relief among 3,000 families in B’baria

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, distributed relief among 3,000 distressed families at Bancharampur upazila in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday.

Shuvasangha, a social organisation of the Bashundhara Group’s national daily the Kaler Kantho, distributed the relief.

Some 3,000 ultra-poor families received the relief at a relief distribution programme organized in front of Bashundhara Foundation at Durgarampur village in Bancharampur.

Every family received Tk 10 rice, 3kg lentil and 3kg flour under the relief scheme of Bashundhara Group.

Bancharampur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Syeda Shamsad Begum attended the relief distribution ceremony as the chief guest. Bancharampur upazila president of Shuvasangha Babu Tapan Chandra Sutradhar presided over the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Syeda Shamsad Begum said “Bashundhara Group is ahead of others in standing by the helpless people. This occasion has enabled me to witness the magnanimity of the country’s largest corporate house. Distributing relief among poor and destitute amid Covid-19 pandemic by this company is an act of great virtue.”

Hailing countrywide relief operation by Bashundhara Group, she wished gradual expansion and development of the corporate house in the future.

The programme was moderated by Md Chand Mia Sarker, Bancharampur upazila correspondent of Kaler Kantho, also the head of the accounting department of Bancharampur Govt College.
Mawlana Ruhul Amin Abdullah, principal of Bancharampur Sobhania Islamia Fazil (degree) Madrasha, Sultana Marium, lecturer in English of Bancharam Govt College and upazila unit general secretary of Shuvasangha, Maimun Kabir, DGM of Bashundhara Group, Md Shafikul Islam, deputy chief engineer of Bashundhara Group, Md Mosharraf Hossain, Manager of Bashundhara Foundation and Md Hazrat Ali, former chairman of Bancharampur Sadar union parishad, were also present.
