Cattle markets to sit in Capital from July 17

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has decided to allow only 10 makeshift cattle markets in Dhaka city ahead of Eid-ul-Azha from July 17.
DSCC public relations officer Abu Naser informed this in a press release on Monday.

According to the press release, considering the overall situation of Corona, only 10 makeshift cattle markets will sit in DSCC this time. Besides, DSCC is trying to set up a digital market. The sacrificial animal market will continue till July 21.

Agreements have been made with the tenants of 10 makeshift cattle markets subject to other conditions including hygiene in the hats.

It may be mentioned that Dhaka South City Corporation has issued a lease notice inviting tenders for 3 stages of 13 makeshift cattle markets in the City Corporation area. At the end of the first and second rounds of tenders,10 makeshift cattle markets were leased. Considering the Corona situation, at the end of the third phase of the tender, it was decided not to lease any more animal hats. Later on Friday, the DSCC announced the cancellation of 3 animal markets due to the epidemic situation.
