Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and General Secretary of the Awami League Obaidul Quader has said that persons involved in the Companiganj incident in Noakhali will not be spared.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the Akkelpur Upazila Awami League conference in Joypurhat on Thursday morning.

He joined the conference via video conference from his official residence.

Quader said there was no question of giving a waiver if anyone was involved in irregularities, corruption and anti-discipline activities.

He said the Anti-Corruption Commission and law enforcement agencies have been instructed in this regard.

Calling on the committee to evaluate the dedicated activists, leaders, he said, “The sacrificers are the lifeblood of the Awami League. They should be included in the committee.”

He urged the district and upazila leaders not to pull the ‘spring cuckoos’ into the party to make their pockets heavier.

Mentioning that party president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very strict about party discipline, Obaidul Quader said, “If the discipline of the party is not followed, the party will not spare you.”

Noting that no program can be given by holding the people hostage, the general secretary of Awami League said, “People are our strength, the main goal is to serve them.”
